Back to the Carolinas: What I love about the USA
People meet you where they can
-Crissle West
I'm not patriotic nor nationalist. Although, I'm originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, I have lived in the U.S for the last 22 years of my 31 years of life. I consider New Jersey as my home state since I spent majority of my childhood there.
Despite it's flaws, scars, history, and social issues, the U.S has become the place I love.
What I love about the U.S:
- Diversity. As much as some people hate it or would like to change it, the U.S is a melting pot of various culture, race, ethnicity and beliefs.
- Freedom. The ability to think the way I do and to write my opinion on a platform such as this without government censorship is a privilege.
- The American Dream. As flaw as this dream is, it is still possible to some. I have truly been bless to have immigrated to a land where it's truly possible to be whatever you want.
