Back to the Carolinas: Lessons Learned 1 year back

It's a gift to exist. With Existence comes suffering. There's no escaping that.

-Stephen Colbert

November 2019 makes a year since I moved back to the States from London, England. Over the last 12 months I have learned a lot about myself, people and life in general. Being alive and living is a beautiful journey and I know that I will continue to learn more things about myself and people each year.

Anyways, here are several things I've learned these last 12 months:

  1. Letting go of people whom you love but they don't love you back is hard thing to do in reality but it is a must. If someone truly love another, they want that person to be happy. Love also includes respecting that person. Respecting that person means respecting their wishes. If they wish to be left alone and have no involvement with you. RESPECT that. I've found that in order to do so in reality is to erase all their contact info from my phone, email list etc. I don't memorized people contact information so If I delete that person from my contact list, it's over. If I found myself thinking of that person, I say a short prayer for them and distract myself, focusing my mind on other things. It okay to love a person from a distance.
  2. Love involves sacrifice. It's hard but worth it. I've been blessed with amazing human beings in my life and I should learn from themselves.
  3. Things are not always what it's seems. Sometimes a story or situations have more nuisances and factors in it that makes it impossible to fully comprehend the whole story or situations.
  4. Have hope. Even when it seems like things will never change. Have hope. Believing in something, helps.
  5. I learned this lesson a long time ago but I was reminded of this lesson these last 12 months and it was true then and it is still true now, PRAY FOR EVERYTHING! As Christians, we are call to take up our crosses and follow Jesus Christ. What better way to know Him but through constant prayer.
  6. Everyone is bad person in someone else story. I'm not an angel. I've done things to hurt others either intentionally and unintentionally. That's life.
  7. Mind your own business. If it does not concern you in anyways, don't pay it attention.
  8. Don't tell people your goals and plans. Show them the results only. I tell people my goals and plans then nothing comes out of it and I feel ashamed.
  9. Everything is figure-able. There is a solution to everything.
  10. Not everything or every one can be fixed.
  11. Be the hero of your life
  12. Love and desire needs space.
  13. Just because you like something does not mean you should have it.
  14. If you are able to help someone, help them without telling the world.
  15. If you want a life that matters, make it matters
  16. Sometimes silence between people does not mean that the speak is gone or that love is no longer there. You can enjoy each other company in silence and not be at odds with each other.
  17. Being a victim is not a choice but remaining a victim is a choice.
  18. Just because you are an open book does not mean other people have to be.
