Back to the Carolinas: Adulting 101 Lessons and Tips part I
avoiding failure is to avoid progress
-Unknown
As a 32 years old who have made a lot of mistakes on the journey of adulting, I decided to share some lessons I've learned thus far and tips. Hopefully, whoever reads this makes better decisions than me.
Tips:
- have a savings account. Add money to this account monthly. If you can weekly.
- don't take money out of your Savings no matter what!!!
- start an Emergency fund. Start adding to this fund monthly. The purpose of this fund is to help you in case of an emergency.
- Live beneath your means. Just because you are making money now does not mean you have to spend it all.
- Give back either the things you don't need anymore or your time
- Pay your bills on time.
- Budget.
- Work. Every job is honorable unless it's violated someone else dignity.
Lessons:
- Don't compare yourself to others, especially where you are in life vs other people life
- Relationships are finite. Not all relationships are meant to last a lifetime.
- Know yourself and love yourself. At times, you will be your only supporter.
- Be grateful for all life's blessings and opportunities.
- You owe no one an explanation on how you live your life.
- Walk away from anything that disrupt your peace.
Adulting is a constant learning process and there's still a lot to learn.
