35 Lessons Learned in 35 years
Life is filled with losses and letting go.
-Chrystal Evans Hurst
I turned 35 this April and life has kicked my butt several times and humbled me alot.
Despite it all, I’ve survived and hopefully have gotten wiser.
Life is beautiful but not easy.
I’m comforted by the fact that I’m loved by Jesus Christ and
I’m going to be okay in the end.
I’m taking everything and each day as it comes and surviving.
These are some lessons I’ve learned, relearned and will relearned later on in life:
Not everything is a sign from God;
Not all of your thoughts have meaning or matter;
Don’t center yourself in other people life;
Everyone will disappoint you;
Focus on those who chose you;
Everything is a choice;
Choose yourself;
Don’t believe everything you think;
If you don’t get a miracle, you can still be one (Nick Vujicic);
If he wanted to he would (Kylie Morgan);
Chase peace;
The peace of another person is not your responsibility (Steven Furtick);
Protect your peace;
Go where you are being fed (Tabitha Brown);
Don’t place yourself in situation that will cause you pain, anxiety or
disturb your peace;
Shut off/turn off your phone for several hours daily;
Don’t project other people’s reality unto your reality;
You're not the main character in every one story.
You're the main character in your own story (Halsey);
Be flexible and adaptable with life, plans and everything;
An offense is something done to you (Angel Tanskley);
Offense is a choice ( Tim Ross);
Anyone or anything that takes you away from the Cross
(Jesus Christ/God/the Creator) is wrong;
No person or anything can complete you, you were made complete by God,
the Author of your life;
Don’t allow the negative to occupy your mind with things that have or
haven't happened yet;
Accept where you are at life and be content with it;
Contentment takes practice (Manouchkla Charles);
Not everything is all or nothing.
Some things need to be tested (Fr. Mike Schimtz);
Freedom is not constantly reacting to our wounds (Dr. Matthew Breuninger);
Suffering is relative (Tim Ross);
Trusting the process involves not actively participating in it (Jamesettler Credell);
In every season of your life, praise God.
Remember the story of Job from the Holy Bible. When he had everything,
he praised God. When he lost it all, he praised God;
Remember your death and live. Time is nonrefundable. Go live;
Love saves. My family and friends’ love for me saved me; and
Que Sera Sera. Whatever will be will be.
