Guam USA November 2021 Trip

 Hafa Adai!

Guam has been on my Bucket List since my law school days. I've researched it and placed it on my Vision Board for years. Fast Forward to April 2021 and I meet someone and I tell him all about my dream of visiting Guam. This stranger then challenges me to go to Guam before the end of 2021. Since I couldn't turn down a challenge, I agreed. I planned my trip for Thanksgiving Week and booked my flights, hotel, airport transportation and thanksgiving day activity through Expedia. I flew with United and stayed at Onward Beach Resort.

I left Charlotte at 6am, flew to Newark (my home state of NJ💗) then at 11am flew to Japan. It was my first time landing in Asia. The layover was only 2 hours. I didn't get a chance to explore the country but it was nice.
I was so exhausted. I did not sleep much on my flight from NJ to Japan. Then my flight to Guam was PACKED!!!!

I arrived in Guam at 10:20pm Sunday Night (the next day from my departure). My airport transportation was waiting for me as I exit the airport and took me straight to the airport. The driver was so nice and he refuse tips. I checked in close to midnight and unpacked. Then I slept until 6 am.

Day 1
After getting ready for the day, I went down to the lobby for breakfast. I did Pilates, ABS Workout, showered and went to explore the hotel.
Due to Covid restriction a lot of things at hotel was changed. The two restaurants at the hotel weren't open every day and there was limited hours of operations.
After my exploration, I changed into my swimsuit and went to the Beach and Pool. There was no one at the Beach or the Pool. It was nice to be out in the sun ☀and enjoying a great book.  I stayed out until 4pm then went back to get ready for dinner at the hotel Japanese Restaurant. I had wine 🍷 and Shrimp Tomatoes Pasta.

Day 2

I woke up at 11am with a stomach bug. I spent all of day 2 vomiting and at the toilet. I later found out I had what's called the traveller's flu. I only left the room for 5 minutes to buy Gatorade, Ginger Ale and anti-diarrhea medicines.

Day 3

I woke up at 3 am determine to leave the hotel and explore the Island. After 1 hour of diarrhea, I did some Pilates, ABS Work Out, drank some medicine and showered.
I took a taxi to the Guam Museum. I didn't do much research on the policy regarding visiting the museum so when I arrived there, I was informed that I had to call first before visiting due to Covid. I stood at the door and called the number and I got in. The Museum visit wasn't free but I forgot how much I paid.

After visiting the museum, I walked around the area and visited the Cathedral, Plaza de Espana, some parts of Chamorros' Village and walked around the park.

After I came back to hotel, I changed into my swimsuit and walked around the beach. While walking the beach, I met a group of Chamorros Cops and Government Works having a Fiesta at the Beach. They invited me to join them. They gave me food, drinks and dessert. It was so nice and hospitable of them. I honestly had fun. It was like seeing everything I read come to life. I read about how friendly and hospitable Chamorros people are but to experience it in real life and be apart of their fiesta was awesome. I stayed with them until Sunset.

After I left the fiesta, I went to my hotel pool and "swam" until I got tired. Then I went back to hotel room, showered and ordered delivery.

Day 4

Thanksgiving Day, I took a taxi to Valley Latte Jungle Adventure Park where I had booked a riverboat tour with Expedia.

The tour, the staff, the food and the atmosphere was GREAT. I had so much fun and whenever I get a chance to come to the Island with my family, I will bring them also. I rode a water buffalo!!! It was a memorable day.
After coming back to the hotel, I went to the waterpark. My hotel had a waterpark attach to it and it was free for hotel guest and I spent a lot of afternoon there.

Day 5

Instead of exploring more of the Island (I was there on a budget), I decided to visit the Guam Outlets and see what it was about then I went to visit Hotel Nikko Crystal Chapel. I have seen the Chapel in many Korean Dramas that I had watched in the past.

My pictures doesn't do the Crystal Chapel justice but it was beautiful.
After my visit, I went back to the hotel, ran at the beach and spent all day at the waterpark.

Day 6

I woke early in the morning to go to the Dededo Flea Market/Guam Farmers Market then visited Two Lovers Point. It was closed because I was there too early in the morning. I still walked around and took some pictures. Then went back to the hotel and ran at the beach.

I spent the remaining day at the pool and waterpark drinking Pina Colada.

After sunset, went back to my room and got dinner. I packed, showered and set an alarm. I was leaving Guam early in the morning the next day.

Guam was an amazing dream come true. I will be back God willing.

~xoxo
