Year 2021: Lessons and Reflection
In 2020, I was foolish, I made stupid mistakes and put myself in position that led to dangerous thoughts.
Year 2021 came and kicked my butt. It brought tears, disappointment, joy, new friendships, heart break, rekindling of an old friendship, a great loss, and an appreciation of life. I'm grateful to be alive and breathing. Every breath is a miracle. It's God small act of love towards us. I'm eternally thankful to have made it to another year.
I believe that every experience, year, situation and people you meet teach you something. Likewise, in 2021, I've learned a lot about myself, others and the world. Here are a some of the lessons I learned.
- People must earn your story. Don't be too quick to share your life with people without them showing you that they are worthy of being a part of your life;
- don't make anything and anyone mini gods in your life;
- don't be complacent;
- don't let anyone steal your joy;
- I can find peace again;
- don't be afraid of people hating you;
- learn to embrace your failures;
- complete yourself. You are made whole already;
- let go for a need for certainty;
- it's okay for things to not work out;
- there's still more to experience;
- those who don't pay your bills shouldn't effect you;
- if it's out of your hands, don't worry about it;
- live for the now;
- life is lived in the maybe;
- fear is a weakness that only God can cure;
- don't broadcast your failures;
- it's okay to pivot;
- panic doesn't solve a thing;
- let go of anything that no longer serves you;
- life has a shade of grey and
- your happiness is your own responsibility.
