5 days, 4 nights in Cologne (Koln), Germany - August 2021

 Rejection is God's protection

       I went to Germany during the last week of August. It was my first trip outside of the U.S since lockdown.

My first stop in Germany was Munich. It started great with a nice Border/Immigration Officer wishing me a safe visit in Germany to the news of my parents arriving safely in Germany. Then I arrived in Cologne from Munich, took the train into Cologne Central Station where my brother and his fiancee pick me up and took me to the hotel to check in.

After dropping off my bags at the hotel, I went in search of food and touring the hotel. I found the hotel rooftop restaurant. The staff at the restaurant was great but the food needs....more work.

Then Patricia and Herve checked in and I went to their room. Afterwards, Patricia and I went walking around Heumardt and had some thai food.

Day 2

I had breakfast with my parents then walk around the neighborhood with my cousins to find last minutes items for the wedding.

I had lunch with my parents and then we went to meet up with the in-laws. Afterwards, I changed and went to have dinner with the bride to be and her bride-maids at a restaurant called XII Apostles.

Days 3 the Wedding Day

I woke up early, my SIL Prescilia did my make up for the day. The church ceremony was great and the reception was so much fun. I danced until 1 am and went back to the hotel. The rest of my siblings stayed until 4 am then went to an African restaurant and stayed up until 6am.

Day 4

My siblings and I walked around searching for places that where open on Sunday for C-19 testing since we cannot leave Germany without a C19 negative result. We got tested, had lunch, tour the Cologne Cathedral, hung out with the newlywed and hung out in my room until the next morning. 

Day 5

After my siblings caught their train to Frankfurt, I showered, finishing packing and caught a taxi to the airport. I had a great taxi driver from Turkey. He was so kind.

I had trouble at the airport finding my gates to check in but with the help of a customer services representative, I was able to make it to Munich and get my flight back to the good old U.S.A
