Back to the Carolinas: Lent 2020

He is Risen

my Lent book for 2020

This year Lenten Season was a little different from previous years due to the pandemic but it was still wonderful in its own way. During this season, we as Catholic Christians (Yes, Catholics are Christians) are suppose to focus on prayer, Almsgiving (charity) and fasting.

For prayer, I went from praying twice a day to three times a day. I try my best each day to strength my prayer life. Sometimes I failed but I tried and will continue to do so because spending each moment in conversation with God brings me peace.
For fasting, I gave up eating meats because I love to eat meat. Most of my meals include some sort of meat and it was a sacrifice that was worth it. For 46 days, I did not eat meat at all. I dreamt of eating a big fat steak one night but I stayed away from meats.
For almsgiving, I actually did good. Whenever I could, I gave what I could.
Also, I started doing devotional again. I haven't been consistent with it but I schedule it into my weekly tasks to complete list. I went back to reading my Bible on a consistent basis via my Audio Bible App and the Rosary App.
Easter Dinner

Anti-tomatoes sauce

Chicken Alfredo Pasta
For Easter since we could not celebrate at Church, we celebrate at home by watching Church online. Also, I cooked for my family. It was the first time that I ever cooked for my family. I made Chicken Alfredo pasta and Chicken with sauces for those who were eating rice. Then later my nephews "taught" me how to play video games.
