Back to the Carolinas: Holidays 2019

Save yourself

our Christmas tree

This holiday season was one of the best holiday in recent years. I came home back from Kinshasa a week before Christmas and I had to rush doing my Christmas shopping. Thank God, my family is not big on expensive gifts, it's effort and thought that count. I was able to find everyone's gift under my budget and my nephews were okay with receiving a part of their gifts after Christmas since I had to order them.

Christmas Day:

  • my MIL woke up early and prepared a feast and put on Christmas music
  • everyone's else woke up around 10am. We prayed, ate breakfast and started opening gifts.
  • After opening our gifts, saying thank you and cleaning up our mess.
  • While listening to Christmas music, we played games such as Charade, family feuds etc
  • it was a good day filled with love

New Years Eve

  • stayed in bed until the afternoon
  • ran some errands
  • went to bed by 11pm
